About
Laura Close
Content Strategist.
Project Manager. Editor. Writer.
Over the past 13 years, I’ve led content strategy for large digital ecosystems, partnering with every department and subject matter experts to solve complex content challenges. My work has centered on improving information architecture, establishing scalable content operations, conducting content audits, and translating technical or highly regulated information into experiences that are intuitive and useful for the people who rely on them.
As Recovery Beach’s Consulting Head of Content, I took over a half-completed website redesign and brought the project to launch readiness in just three weeks. This included performing a comprehensive content and site audit, proposing a new information architecture, identifying redirects and slug names required for migration, and collaborating closely with design and development teams throughout implementation.
Previously, as Managing Editor at American Addiction Centers, I led content strategy and editorial operations across more than 30 healthcare websites in a highly regulated environment. Beyond managing editors and writers, I partnered with Product and Engineering to improve user journeys, identify content gaps, establish editorial governance, and create consistent content patterns across a large digital ecosystem.
I bring deep experience managing writers, editors, and freelancers, as well as mentoring teams to maintain consistent brand voice, clarity, and quality across thousands of pages of content.
With a strong academic background in English and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, I offer a blend of strategic thinking, editorial rigor, and operational efficiency well suited for senior content and editorial roles.
